How To Use Twitter To Get Better ranking in Google

When Matt Cutts announced that Google is going to factorize social signals in its page-ranking mechanism, search engine optimizers across the world took it for a watershed moment as their tweeting on different social media sites will have positive bearing on the main business sites. Although tweeted links will not carry much weight-age  Google has admitted that social signals such as tweets and unlocked Facebook mentions will determine the ranking of a page.

So, your chitchatting on Twitter or Facebook will no longer be considered as meaningless indulgence. But you can make the most of the decision taken by Google if you work on certain lines and develop focus on some aspects of social media to boost SEO.

Create an active Twitter account: Although creating an active account is the first task to utilize tweeted signals in streamlining your site, your job does not end with account creation. If you mean your account to be stagnated site with no updating, befriending and interaction with industry peers, Cutts’ announcement then does not apply to you. To breed useful social signals that Google values, you have to connect with relevant friends, enter conversations, post comments, respond to queries and talk to consumers familiar with your brand. If you can focus on how you can make relevant people retweet your content, your site will have ample benefit.

Use Twitter tools: Your profile is sure to get a thrust if you use some specific kind of tools and ideas. You can use tools like ‘Paywithatweet’ or ‘Twtpoll’ where you won’t have to take extra care to generate retweets.

Use other social media sites: There are quite a lot of social media sites and they don’t offer the same sort of networking facilities. Moreover, all of the sites have different kinds of target audience and it is obvious that you will neither have same sort of companions on all the sites nor will you be inclined to become Facebook friends with every one you come across. This will have positive result on your search engine optimization.

But from experience it has been observed that social networking worms tend to share almost same contacts on all the platforms. Google counts on how many reference and retweet you get from relevant sites. So you can either draw LinkedIn contacts via Twitter, or use tools like ‘Flowtown’, that is tailored to group your shared connections across social media sites. With the help of these features, you can build relationships with followers who you feel are important to Google spiders and your SEO will get a boost.

Run retweet competitions: Though an ignominious strategy to generate retweet, experts feel that by running retweet completion will definitely encourage followers to make your tweeted comment visible to Google. It may surprise you that some popular newspapers are counting on this trend.

Focus on rich content: While tactics like retweet competition appear more like canvassing, posting content on your Twitter account will be a gentlemen’s game. There is no doubt that having good contents on your site will generate interest among visitors and they are more likely to connect to your site. Valuable articles will increase your fan follow-up. You can also consider posting widgets and even fantastic discount vouchers. You can design your home page accordingly. Since Google assigns importance on titles that have a high reference and popularity, the number of your followers plays a vital role in pushing your page up the ladder.

Users often ignore petty facts like how much space there are for the visitor to leave a comment or even retweet. Moreover, in case of your twitter account, keywords are as important as it is in case of a normal web page SEO. These are the basics which cannot be overlooked at any cost.
