Industry insiders believe Google has lost its efficiency edge over the years and decision making procedures have become sluggish. The CEO switch is intended to help Google shake down the lethargy and streamline the decision-making procedure. This change in the lines of authority marks a considerable transition as Page is dedicated to rooting out the bureaucracy and making the company regain its nimbleness, if it wants to keep its head up in the air. Google has realized the need to segregate the work culture from the operational efficiency of the company as it may prove to be an obstacle to success.<\/p>\n
Besides the plan to hire about 6,000 people this year, Page is also dwelling on major changes in organizational moves and decision-making philosophy to make the company move faster to compete the rivaling technology giants like Apple. To be more specific, Page will be putting his effort on clarifying the lines of authority and allowing the product leads to take decisions faster to catch up with the growing market. Evaluating the extent to which Page will carry forward Google will be a difficult task since it will not be possible the scale the company\u2019s growth in terms of money\u2014there are talks the users will have to pay for searching through its engine from the next year.
