Facebook loves to offer something unique to the online marketers and recently the social media giant launched a new tool named “Audience Insights”. Right now, the tool is available for US marketers only, but in the coming months, marketers all over the world will be able to use it. Facebook Audience Insights can be accessed via Ads Manager. As you can understand by its name, the tool allows advertisers to gather target customer specific data. The main purpose of this tool is to offer marketers information related to current and potential customer trends. Facebook Audience Insights provides info about users in the below mentioned categories. Based on the data, advertisers can disseminate better marketing message.
Demographics: Gender, age, lifestyle, relationship status, education, job role, and size of the family.
Page Likes: The most popular pages across various categories. For example- top pages in “male apparels” category.
Location and Language: The location of the users and the language they speak.
Usage Data: Frequency of Facebook usage and the devices used by the target audience.
Purchase Activity: Previous shopping behaviour and activity. Online vs offline.
All the aforementioned data can be viewed for 3 different segments of users. Common Facebook users, users connected to a specific page or event and last but not the least, a marketer's present customers. Facebook confirmed that the insights are given to the marketers in such a way that the private information of the social media users never get revealed.
