DuckDuckGo is a popular search engine among the web users who like to avoid Google ecosystem. Recently, DuckDuckGo redesigned its user interface and added new features such as images, autosuggest, places, and more in the search results.
The search engine officially announced that they have listened to the feedbacks given by their new and existing users and thus, incorporated new features to make the users happy. For example, if you search for “Thai in San Francisco”, the search results will display images of Thai delicacies, name of the restaurants serving Thai dishes and much more. At the bottom right corner of the SERP, you can see the “give feedback” button. You can click on it to share your opinion.
However, everything is not very smooth with the new design and the company is trying to fix the common issues. Here are some of them-
1. All the settings are not working and the “setting” page is currently under reconstruction.
2. You won't get instant answers for all the queries. Even if you do, some may show you the same old format.
3. It is working on IE8, but still needs improvement.
Just a few months ago, the search engine celebrated one billion searches in 2013. At present, DuckDuckGo is answering approximately 5 million queries per day (average). The people behind DuckDuckGo confirmed that they want to make the new design the default version, but it all depends on the feedback they receive from the end users.
